2018 NESCAC Field Hockey Players of the Week

Nicholas handed out the assist on Middlebury’s game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over No. 2 Tufts in the NESCAC Championship game. Nicholas was also responsible for drawing nine penalty corners in two games last weekend. She leads Middlebury in goals (12), assists (9), and points (33). The Panthers captured their sixth NESCAC title.

Ticknor scored three goals as the Ephs upset previously undefeated Middlebury, 4-2. She followed up with one goal and an assist on the game-winning goal as the Ephs clipped No. 6 Bowdoin, 3-2, in the NESCAC Quarterfinals.

Foley scored the game-winning goal in each Jumbo win last week. Against Williams, she broke a scoreless tie with a tally in the opening minutes of the second half to lead the Jumbos to a 2-0 win. She netted the game-winning goal against Haverford, scoring the game’s first goal in the 48th minute in an eventual 2-0 victory.

Schwartzman netted the game-tying goal in the 68th minute against Colby to force overtime and dished out the assist on the game-winner in a 2-1 victory over the Mules. She added the game-winning goal in a 3-1 win versus Bates. Schwartzman finished the week with five points.

Giuttari posted three goals and an assist for seven points in two wins last week. She scored twice at Amherst, including the game-winner 8:05 into overtime of the Continentals’ 4-3 victory. That goal was the 46th of her Hamilton career and moved her into second place on the program’s all-time list. Giuttari added a goal and an assist in a 4-0 triumph over William Smith.

A co-captain Tutoni tallied 10 points on five goals in three NESCAC games. She netted the game-tying and game-winning goal in overtime as the Jumbos topped Amherst, 3-2, and scored the game-tying goal against Hamilton in a 2-1 victory. She also scored twice in a win over Wesleyan. Tutoni leads the Jumbos with 12 points.

Codey scored back-to-back goals to lead the Amherst comeback effort in a 4-3 victory over Williams. She netted the game-tying goal in the 46th minute to erase a 2-0 deficit and gave Amherst its first lead of the game in the 58th minute. Codey also anchored the defense that allowed five shots in the second half against Williams and limited Endicott to six shots on goal in a 3-1 win over the Gulls.

Johns scored four goals and assisted on another in a pair of NESCAC wins for Middlebury. After earning a hat trick, including the game-winner in a 5-4 victory over Amherst, Johns added a goal and an assist the following day as the Panthers defeated Hamilton, 4-0.

Dolan scored all four goals for the Ephs last week, including the game-winning tally in each contest, as the Ephs defeated St. John Fisher, 3-2, and shutout conference rival Trinity, 1-0.
