WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - Senior Libby Dolan scored once in each half to lead Williams past Bowdoin, 3-2, in the NESCAC Quarterfinals. The third-seeded Ephs improve to 11-4 overall and advance to the NESCAC Semifinals, while the sixth-seeded Polar Bears fall to 11-4.

The Polar Bears got off to an early lead in the first half, behind an unassisted goal from Abby Bashaw at 1:56. Dolan broke through the Bowdoin defense at the 6:29 mark with a one-on-one opportunity versus goalie Maddie Ferrucci, but her shot hit Ferrucci's pad and bounced back out into the circle.

Dolan evened the score at 23:07 of the game. She won a midfield battle and broke away for another one-on-one battle with Ferrucci. Dolan won this encounter as her shot found the back of the cage to tie the game up at 1-1.

At the half, junior Abby Lloyd would take over in net for the Ephs. Emma Santucci had four saves on the day and allowed one goal.

The Ephs earned a penalty corner with 43:43 showing on the clock in the second half. Sophomore Claire Fitzpatrick took the pass from junior Emma Ticknor but her shot was turned away by Ferrucci at 44:14. Ticknor tried to put back the rebound but the ball was cleared by Ferrucci.

Another Eph penalty corner at 49:39 produced a pass from junior Isabel Perry to Ticknor who slotted the ball in the corner of the goal to put the Ephs up 2-1.

Play continued back and forth. The Polar Bears threatened after the 60th minute with back-to-back shots by Elizabeth Growney but Lloyd blocked both of them. Growney finally broke through at 65:01, scoring on a pass from Emma Stevens to tie the game up.

The Eph offense quickly rallied, moving the ball down the field on the stick of Ticknor. Ticknor crossed a pass to Dolan who sunk the ball into the back of the net at 66:46 to put the Ephs up 3-2.

The Ephs will face No. 2 Tufts in the NESCAC Semifinals on Saturday, November third at Middlebury. The Panthers, the top seed, will host the remaining rounds of the tournament.
