Gilmour, the 2019 NESCAC and NABC Northeast District Player of the Year, was voted to the first team. He is the fifth player in Hamilton men's basketball history to receive All-America First Team honors. Joe Finley '03 was the last Continental on the first team in 2003. Hamilton men's basketball players have collected 23 All-America awards since the coaches association implemented the honor in 1977.

The 6-4 guard was the leading scorer for a Hamilton team that finished the season with a 25-5 record and advanced to the sectional semifinals (third round) of the NCAA Tournament for the second year in a row. The 25 wins are the second-highest total for a season in program history. The Continentals tied for first place in the conference standings at 7-3 and played in the NESCAC Championship Final for the first time.

Gilmour averaged 19.0 points and 5.8 rebounds and started all 30 games. He tied for the team lead with 92 assists and added 37 steals and 20 blocked shots. He shot 47.4 percent from the field, including 33.9 percent from 3-point range, and made 87.5 percent of his shots at the free-throw line. He scored in double figures in all but three games, eclipsed the 20-point mark 14 times and went over 30 points twice. He enters his senior campaign ranked 12th on the team's all-time scoring list with 1,406 points.
