NESCAC Men's Golf All-Conference Teams Announced

Will Rosenfield, Trinity
HADLEY, Mass. - Trinity senior Will Rosenfield (Baltimore, Md.) repeats as the NESCAC Men’s Golfer of the Year as voted on by the league’s coaches. He is the second golfer to earn back-to-back Golfer of the Year honors since 2000-01. Rosenfield is the sixth Bantam to be honored as the NESCAC Golfer of the Year, joining George Boudria (2005-06), Reid Longley (2006-07 & 2008-09), Josh Grossman (2007-08), Jack Palley (2011-12) and Greg Palmer (2012-13). 
Rosenfield was the medalist in five of nine tournaments this season, including the NESCAC Fall Qualifier and the NESCAC Championship, which the Bantams won. Rosenfield posted a score of 139 (69-70) at the NESCAC Qualifier and followed up with a 27-hole total of 103 (34-69) at the NESCAC Championship. Rosenfield earns his third All-NESCAC First Team selection for the NCAA-bound Bantams.
First-year Milan Matneja (Fairfax, Va.) was selected as the NESCAC Rookie of the Year. He is the fourth Continental to garner the honor, joining Chris Pike (2003-04), Brad Roche (2007-08), and Matt Yung (2012-13). He won the Hamilton Invitational and St. Lawrence Invitational to begin his collegiate career before finishing fourth at the NESCAC Fall Qualifier to help the Continentals advance to the NESCAC Championship. Hamilton placed second at the NESCAC Championship, four strokes behind Trinity, to post its best finish since 2008. Matneja finished in a tie for third on the individual leaderboard with a score of 107 (35-72).
Trinity head coach Matt Greason was selected as the NESCAC Coach of the Year by his peers for the second year in a row and the second time in his six years at the helm of the Bantams. Greason guided Trinity to its second consecutive NESCAC Championship and berth to the NCAA Championship.
Trinity seniors Nick Branchina (Summit, N.J.), Jack Junge (Winnetka, Ill.), and Taylor Kay-Green (Needham, Mass.) join Rosenfield on the All-NESCAC First Team. Branchina earns his first all-conference accolade. He helped the Bantams earn first place at the NESCAC Championship, shooting a 71 on the second day of the tournament (39-71-110). Junge is a First Team honoree for the second time in his career, also earning the honor in 2016-17. He posted a scoring average of 73.0 during the spring season and shot a round of 70 on Day 2 of the NESCAC Championship. Kay-Green, a Second Team selection in 2015-16 and 2017-18, averaged a score of 73.03 this season and did not have a round higher than 77.
Middlebury senior Reid Buzby (San Francisco, Calif.) won the NEIGA Tournament (73-72-145) and Skidmore’s Tim Brown Invitational (71-66-137) this season and finished among the top three in five events. He was the third-place finisher at the NESCAC Fall Qualifier (71-73-144) to help the Panthers win the event and earn the right to host the NESCAC Championship. Buzby picks up his third All-NESCAC plaudit after being a First Team selection in 2015-16 and named to the Second Team in 2016-17.
Williams junior Sam Goldenring (Florham Park, N.J.) earns a spot on the First Team for the second year in a row and was a Second Team honoree in 2016-17. Goldenring won the Duke Nelson Invitational (69-70-139) and Williams Fall Invitational (69-71-140) to start the season and captured medalist honors at the Williams Spring Invitational (73-66-139). He posted a scoring average of 71.57 and did not finish lower than fourth in seven events this season. Goldenring was recently selected to play as an individual at the upcoming NCAA Championship.
