CLAREMONT, Calif. – Middlebury senior Andy Peters advanced to the quarterfinal round of the NCAA Men's Tennis singles championship with a pair of wins on Friday. Peters, one of seven NESCAC men's tennis players to participate in this year's singles tournament, is the only individual from the conference to advance out of the first two rounds.
Peters, the NESCAC Men's Tennis Player of the Year, won in straight sets in the round of 32 over Eric Shulman of Christopher Newport, 6-3, 6-2, before taking down Andrew Giuffrida (Cal Lutheran) 6-0, 6-7 (5), 6-3.
