HADLEY, Mass. – The New England Small College Athletic Conference announced the 2018 Men’s and Women’s Rowing All-NESCAC Teams. Bates’ Peter Steenstra was selected as the 2018 NESCAC Men’s & Women’s Rowing Coach of the Year by his colleagues after guiding both squads to a sweep of the NESCAC Championships for the second consecutive year. The women’s team won its fourth NESCAC Championship in five years and the men’s squad captured its third championship overall. Steenstra, who won both Coach of the Year honors last season, earns the women’s Coach of the Year honor for the sixth time and the men’s Coach of the Year for the fourth time in his 10-year career at Bates. He previously was recognized as the NESCAC Women’s Rowing Coach of the Year in 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015 and 2017 and garnered the men’s Coach of the Year honor in 2012, 2015 and 2017.
