Trinity Captures Eighth NESCAC Men's Squash Title

CLINTON, N.Y.
- Top-seeded Trinity won its eight NESCAC men’s squash title in as many years, blanking second-seeded Williams 9-0 in the final to cap the three-day NESCAC Championship at Hamilton College’s Little Squash Center. The Bantams and Ephs have met in the title match every year the championship tournament has been held.

Trinity cruised into the final with 9-0 wins over eighth-seeded Colby and fifth-seeded Middlebury in Saturday’s quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively. The Ephs opened competition with a 7-2 quarterfinal win over sixth-seeded Bowdoin then edged Bates, the second seed, 5-4 in the semifinal round.

Second-seeded Bates placed third, beating Middlebury 6-3 for the second year in a row.

Sunday’s matches kicked off with seventh-seeded Amherst beating eighth-seeded Colby 6-3 in the seventh/eighth-place match and fourth-seeded Wesleyan edging sixth-seeded Bowdoin 5-4 in the fifth/sixth-place match.

Places nine through 11 were determined by consolation matches played Saturday.

Final: Trinity defeated Williams, 9-0
Third-place match: Bates defeated Middlebury, 6-3
Fifth-place match: Wesleyan defeated Bowdoin, 5-4
Seventh-place match: Amherst defeated Colby, 6-3
Ninth place: Hamilton
10th place: Connecticut College
11th place: Tufts
