Trinity and Bates to Square Off in Women's Squash Final

CLINTON, N.Y. - The NESCAC Women’s Squash Championship wraps up Sunday at Hamilton College’s Little Squash Center with top-seeded Trinity College gunning for its eighth consecutive title. The top-seeded Bantams will take on second-seeded Bates in the 1:30 p.m. final. The Bobcats will record the program’s highest finish after rolling to a 7-2 win over third-seeded Williams in the semifinals. Bates advanced to the semifinal round by knocking off seventh-seeded Bowdoin in Saturday morning’s quarterfinals.

Trinity posted a pair of 9-0 victories to reach the final, blanking eighth-seeded Wesleyan in the quarterfinal round and shutting out fifth-seeded Middlebury in the semifinals.

Sunday’s schedule features three other matches: Wesleyan faces Bowdoin in the 10:30 a.m. seventh-place match, host Hamilton meets Amherst at 10:30 a.m. with fifth place on the line and at noon, Middlebury and Williams play in the third-place match. The Panthers and Ephs had combined for every second-place finish in the first seven tournaments.
