WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. - For the ninth time in the nine years of the NESCAC Men's Squash Championship, Trinity and Williams will face off for the championship trophy on Sunday at the Simon Squash Center.
This after an onslaught of ten matches Saturday in which the No. 1 Bantams (14-1) dispatched No. 8 Bowdoin, 9-0, in the quarterfinals, then toppled No. 4 Bates in the semifinals of the tournament, 7-2.
No. 2 Williams (13-7) had a slightly difficult road, edging No. 7 Amherst, 6-3 and then clipping No. 3 Middlebury, 5-4, in the semifinals to gain a berth in the final.
Trinity and Williams will play for the NESCAC Championship at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, an hour earlier than originally scheduled due to the weather forecast. Middlebury and Bates will meet in the third-place match, also at 11:30 a.m.
In other quarterfinal action, No. 4 Bates topped No. 5 Colby, 8-1, and No. 3 Middlebury defeated No. 6 Wesleyan, 5-4.
