HARTFORD, Conn. - The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Men's Squash Championship Final will have a new participant for the first time in its 10-year existence when the nine-time defending champion Trinity College Bantams take on the first-time finalist Bates College Bobcats in the league finals tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity's George A. Kellner Squash Center. Tomorrow's noon third-place match will feature the Williams College Ephs and the Middlebury College Panthers.
Trinity reached its 10th NESCAC Final in a row with a 8-1 win over Amherst and a 9-0 shutout of Williams today, while third-seeded Bates blanked Wesleyan, 9-0, and ousted No. 2 seed Middlebury, 6-3, to earn its first finals appearance. The Bantams improved to 17-0 with its two wins today and the Bobcats upped their season mark to 11-6. Middlebury had defeated Bowdoin, 8-1, and fourth-seeded Williams had blanked fifth-seeded Colby, 9-0, in the other quarterfinal matches.
