Williams Three Shots Off the Lead Following Day 1 at NCAA Championships

HOUSTON, Texas – William is three shots off the lead after the first round of the four-round NCAA Tournament being played at Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas.


The University of Redlands leads the 25-team field shooting 306, (+18). DePauw University and Methodist University both tallied a team score of 307 to stand one stroke behind Redlands, while Williams carded a score of 309.

The Ephs are seeded sixth in the tournament, while Redlands is the 11th seed. DePauw entered the tournament as the fifth seed, while Methodist is the 10th seed.

The Ephs were paired with George Fox University and Grinnell College on Day 1 and will play with the same players again tomorrow when they tee off at 1:20 p.m. to start the second round.

Starting out on the 10th tee, Cori Chan led the Ephs with a three-over par 75. Olivia White and Joanna Kim each shot scores of 78, while Stella Woo finished with a 79 and Holly Davenport finished the round with an 80.

Middlebury's Chloe Levins, playing as an individual, stands tied for 31st overall after shooting a score of 78 through the first 18-holes.
