Williams Women's Golf - NESCAC Fall Qualifier

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. – Williams captured the 2019 NESCAC Women’s Golf Championship Fall Qualifier with a two-day total of 619 (312-307) on its home course at Taconic Golf Club. The NESCAC qualifier was part of the larger Williams Invitational. The Ephs began the day with a six-stroke lead and finished with a five-stroke advantage over second-place Amherst (318-306-624).

COMPLETE RESULTS

The 2019-20 season marks a new format for the NESCAC Women's Golf Championship. By virtue of winning the fall qualifier, Williams will host the spring championship on April 25-26, 2020. The top four teams in the final standings for the qualifier, plus the top four individual golfers outside the top four teams will play in the spring championship.

Middlebury finished in third (326-309-635) and Hamilton followed in fourth (337-342-679) to round out the four teams that advance to the spring championship. Bowdoin placed fifth (342-352-694) and Trinity (448-450-898) followed in sixth to round out the team scores.

Stella Woo (76-75-151) of Williams and Morgan Yurosek (79-72-151) of Amherst tied for medalist honors as both golfers finished with matching two-day scores of 151. Woo led the field after shooting a 76 on the first day, while Yurosek fired the low round on the final day with a 72.

Middlebury's Katie Murphy finished one stroke back at 152 (77-75) and was followed by Isabelle Ouyang of Amherst (77-78-155) and Joanna Kim of Williams (79-77-156) to round out the top five individuals.

Wesleyan's Saadia Naeem posted rounds of 92 and 91 to finish with a two-day total of 183 to lead the trio of Cardinals who participated as individuals. Chloe Baylor represented Bates and posted a top-20 finish with rounds of 88 and 87 for a 36-hole total of 175.

The top four individuals outside of the top four qualifying teams advancing to the spring championship are Caroline Farber (Bowdoin), Abbie Kaestle (Bowdoin), Chloe Baylor (Bates), and Crystal Chong (Bowdoin).
