  • Hamilton Selects Reding as Volleyball Head Coach

    CLINTON, N.Y. - Erin Reding, formerly an assistant women's volleyball coach at Connecticut College, has been named the head women's volleyball coach at Hamilton College. Reding had been an assistant at Connecticut College for the past two seasons.

    BRUNSWICK, Maine - Bowdoin women's volleyball coach Karen Corey has been chosen as the Assistant Coach to the All-Navy Women's Volleyball team. The All-Navy Sports Program is a national sports program conducted under the Armed Forces Sports Program.
  • Amherst Falls to Juniata in NCAA Volleyball Quarterfinals

    BLOOMINGTON, Ill. - Amherst suffered a 3-0 setback to defending NCAA Volleyball champion Juniata on Thursday afternoon at the Shirk Center on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan University. The Lord Jeffs finish their season with a school-best 30-5 record, while the Eagles advance to Friday's semifinal round.
  • Amherst Advances to NCAA Volleyball Quarterfinals with 3-1 Win Over MIT

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - In a battle of the at-large bids, Amherst College upended MIT, 30-25, 30-16, 24-30, 30-23, in the final of the NCAA Division III Women’s Volleyball New England Regional on Saturday night. The Lord Jeffs (30-4) will meet up with Juniata College on Thursday, Nov. 15 in the quarterfinals which will be hosted by Illinois Wesleyan University. Following their second straight regional final appearance, the Engineers finished the season with a record of 36-3.
  • Amherst Claims 3-2 Victory Over Williams in NCAA Volleyball Regional

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - In NCAA New England regional action at MIT on Friday, Amherst College battled NESCAC rival Williams College for the third time this season, and went to five games for the third time, with Amherst winning 3-2. The Jeffs advance to face MIT on Saturday in the Regional championship.
  • Amherst Advances Past Rivier in NCAA Volleyball Regional

    CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Amherst College volleyball team traveled to host MIT on Thursday for its NCAA opening round match against Rivier College. In a re-match of the Jeffs’ season-opener, Amherst looked to repeat the result of a Sept. 8, 2007 3-1 win. Amherst did itself one better with a 3-0 sweep to advance to the second round on Friday against the winner of the Williams-Endicott match.
  • 2007 NESCAC Volleyball All-Conference Teams Announced

    HADLEY, Mass. - Amherst senior outside hitter Jaclyn DeMais (Hillsdale, N.J.) has been named the 2007 NESCAC Player of the Year, as determined by the conference coaches. DeMais helped the Jeffs finish first in the NESCAC standings this season with a 9-1 conference record along with an appearance in the final match of the NESCAC Volleyball Championship for the second-straight year. She is the first player from Amherst to earn the league’s top honor this decade.
  • Williams Takes 3-2 Win Over Amherst for 2007 Volleyball Championship

    AMHERST, Mass. - Second-seeded Williams came away with a 3-2 victory over top-seeded Amherst on Sunday in the final match of the 2007 NESCAC Volleyball Championship. The match pitted the two finalists from last year's championship against each other once again, as Amherst claimed the 2006 title by a 3-1 score at Williams. The Ephs earned their first championship since 2004 and seventh overall. Amherst moves to 27-4 on the year and will hope for an at-large bid to the NCAA tournament, while Williams improves to 27-7 and earns an automatic berth.
  • Amherst and Williams Earn Victories in Semifinals; Will Meet in Championship Match for Second-Straight Year

    AMHERST, Mass. - Top-seeded Amherst avenged a 3-2 regular-season loss to fourth-seeded Connecticut College by advancing to the final match of the 2007 NESCAC Volleyball Championship with a 3-1 win on Saturday afternoon, while second-seeded Williams took care of third-seeded Tufts in three games. The Jeffs and Ephs will play for the NESCAC title Sunday at 1 p.m. in LeFrak Gymnasium.
  • Top Four Seeds Advance During Quarterfinals of NESCAC Volleyball Championship

    AMHERST, Mass. - The opening round of the 2007 NESCAC Volleyball Championship kicked off Friday night at LeFrak Gymnasium on the campus of Amherst College, with the top four seeds in the eight-team tournament advancing to Saturday’s semifinal round. Top-seeded Amherst will take on No. 4 Conn. College at 1 p.m. in LeFrak, with No. 2 Williams College taking on No. 3 Tufts University at 3:30 p.m.
  • NESCAC Volleyball Championship Starts Friday at Amherst

    HADLEY, Mass. - Defending NESCAC Volleyball Champion Amherst College will look to earn its second-consecutive NESCAC title and fourth in program history when the Jeffs host the rest of the conference this weekend for the 2007 NESCAC Volleyball Championship. The three-day, eight-team event begins on Friday, Nov. 2 in Amherst, Mass. with quarterfinal action beginning at 6:00 p.m. The 2007 NESCAC Volleyball Championship continues with the semifinals on Saturday, Nov. 3 and concludes with the championship match on Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
