  • NESCAC Announces NCAA Woman of the Year Nominees

    Eight women have been nominated by their institutions to represent the NESCAC as its NCAA Woman of the Year nominee. A committee will select the NESCAC’s representative for the award.
  • Ben Somera Named Head Volleyball Coach at Wesleyan

    Ben Somera, most recently the head coach of women's volleyball at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I., has been appointed faculty head coach of women's volleyball at Wesleyan University for the 2015 season, Director of Athletics Mike Whalen announced.
  • Erin Cady Named Head Volleyball Coach at Bowdoin

    The Bowdoin Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Erin Cady as head coach of women's volleyball. Cady comes to Bowdoin from Holy Cross, where she had served as head coach for the last four seasons.
  • Melissa DeRan Named Bates Head Volleyball Coach

    Director of Athletic Kevin McHugh announced Monday the appointment of Melissa DeRan, most recently head coach at Union College, as the 12th head coach in the 49-year history of the Bates College varsity women's volleyball team.

    A total of 86 student-athletes have been named to the 2014 NESCAC Fall All-Sportsmanship Team. One student-athlete from each institution for each sport that the conference sponsors was honored.
  • Seven NESCAC Players Receive AVCA Recognition

    Williams sophomore Tori Jasuta has been named an AVCA Division III Second Team All-American, while Williams' Ryan Farley, Trinity's Kate Giddens, Bowdoin's Christy Jewett and Quincy Leech and Tufts' Hayley Hopper and Isabel Kuhel have received AVCA Honorable Mention All-America honors.
  • Karen Corey Steps Down as Head Volleyball Coach at Bowdoin

    Bowdoin head volleyball coach Karen Corey has announced her resignation from Bowdoin College following the conclusion of the 2014 volleyball season. Coach Corey and her family will be relocating to Cologne, Germany in January 2015.

    The Tufts volleyball team hit a blistering .344 as the Jumbos won their opening match of the 2014 NCAA Tournament in dominating fashion over Springfield College on Friday afternoon. Tufts won in straight sets 25-12, 25-11, 25-15.

    The Williams College Ephs (26-4) opened the Williamstown, Mass. Regional with a 3-0 win over the Sage Colleges Gators (25-7), 25-12, 25-18, 25-23. Williams will continue on tomorrow to the second round at 5 p.m. against the Babson College Beavers.

    It took a little while to get started, but once it got going the third-seeded Amherst volleyball team earned a 3-1 win over sixth-seeded Connecticut College in quarterfinal action of the NESCAC Volleyball Tournament hosted by Tufts on Friday night. Maggie Danner led the Jeffs with a match-high 18 kills.

    Tufts closed out the final weekend of the regular season with a pair of road victories to post a 9-1 conference record and earn the top seed in the NESCAC Volleyball Championship for the first time since 2009. The Jumbos also earned the right to host all rounds of the tournament at Cousens and Chase Gymnasiums.
