2018 Volleyball Players of the Week

Sheldon helped lead the Polar Bears win their third NESCAC Championship with stellar defensive play last weekend. In three matches, Sheldon averaged 6.00 digs per set, including 29 in both the semifinal win over No. 5 Tufts and the title match against No. 3 Amherst. She leads the conference with 557 digs, and with 72 in three matches over the weekend, she became the fourth player in school history to surpass 1,500 digs in a career (1,568).

Staver averaged 3.36 kills per set with a .418 hitting percentage in a 3-0 week for the Panthers. She also earned 10 digs, nine blocks, and five services aces. She hit .472 with 17 kills in the regular season finale versus Williams.

Sessions averaged 3.75 kills and 3.08 digs per last week for the Panthers. She posted double-doubles against Babson (11 kills, 11 digs) and Springfield (19 kills, 20 digs) and added 15 kills with six digs versus MIT. She finished the week with a .283 hitting percentage.

Kiser sparked the Polar Bears to a pair of road wins last week. She averaged 11.33 assists and 1.78 digs per set, while also registering seven kills. At Endicott, she racked up 56 assists, 10 digs, and three kills. She followed it up with a 46-assist effort with four kills and two service aces in a come-from-behind win over Middlebury.

Flaharty averaged 4.4 kills, 3.4 digs per set, and posted a .429 hitting percentage, while also recording five service aces in a 3-0 week for the Polar Bears. She recorded a double-double against Salem State (13 kills, 11 digs), had a strong showing against Trinity (11 kills, 8 digs, 3 aces), and posted a season-best 20 kills and 15 digs, with a .381 hitting percentage in a key conference win over Amherst.

Flaharty posted double-doubles in two NESCAC road wins over Williams (3-2) and Hamilton (3-1). She averaged 3.1 kills and 3.3 digs per set, totaled 12 kills and 15 digs against the Ephs, and 17 kills and 15 digs against the Continentals. She also had five service aces versus Hamilton.

Williams registered a 23-kill effort and .400 hitting percentage as Bowdoin rallied for a comeback win at Tufts (3-2). She averaged 3.42 kills per set in wins over Tufts and Scranton and a 3-1 loss to Johnson & Wales.

Jago helped guide Wesleyan to a 2-0 week with wins over Williams (3-1) and Hamilton (3-0). Against the Ephs, the Cardinals rallied from a 0-1 deficit as Jago hit .611 with 11 kills and three blocks. Jago hit .467 with nine kills and four blocks in a sweep of the Continentals. She concluded the week with 20 kills (2.86 per set) and a .545 hitting percentage with seven blocks and four service aces.

Dailey averaged 5.8 kills per set in a 3-0 week for the Mammoths. She had a 28-kill performance in a four-set win over Emerson. Dailey hit .454 over three matches with nine errors in 108 total attempts. She also added 32 digs, including a high of 14 digs against Emerson.
